Beginning Stained Glass

Course Details:  Since Covid we have changed to an all day Saturday class. From 9 AM-noon for the first class, then we break for lunch approximately 45 minutes, then resume until 3 PM for the second class.

Cost for Tools and Supplies:  Varies between $500.00-$750.00 *Tools can be purchased weekly as needed

Course Description:

No previous experience is required in the beginning stained glass course.  In the class students will make their project using the copper foil method.

In the first session the instructor covers all the tools in the beginning tool kit.  They explain what they are are show students how they are used.  Then each student has a chance to try the tools and make a small suncatcher.  This allows you to see how a project is constructed from beginning to end.  In the first session all tools and materials to complete the suncatcher are provided.

During the following five weeks each student will construct a stained glass panel (with your choice of multiple patterns) working step by step so that by the last session each student will have a finished project and leave the course with the basic knowledge to do stained glass at home.  To complete the five weeks and construct your own panel, students will be responsible for supplying all tools and materials needed with the exception of grinders.  For students who need extra time on the grinders, we welcome you give us a call and we will ensure a grinder is available for you to bring your project to the store.
